I etcetera, etcetera, etcetera!

Last week in History class, we were tasked to find a speech of a former Philippine leader and eventually recite it in class. It was on a first come first serve basis so I immediately tagged Ferdinand Marcos. Unfortunately, someone else got it so I just dismissed the whole idea. The next meeting, my professor asked me whose speech I’ll be reciting and I told her “I don’t know”. She suggested Carlos P. Romulo since he’s a good leader and no one has selected him. Although the name is unfamiliar to me, I took it instead because I had no other choice.

So when I looked him up on the internet, I was surprised to see his life, works, achievements, and career. Little did I know that that diplomat had been President of the UN General Assembly and Secretary/Minister of Foreign Affairs under three different presidents. Titles palang nga ng books niya, gusto ko ng basahin! To add that, he also makes a lot of witty comebacks; just like Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago! I would be really interested to know more about this person, but lest we forget, I still need to find a speech. Haha
